Fight

The doctor has put me on

depression medication.

I am ready to fight this

custody battle.

Whereas I was always blue,

I now have these highs.

I know how the drugs work,

but I feel empowered.

My niece hasn’t called me.

My messages were definitely

delivered.

I suspect her Father has told her,

don’t talk. I know that man

would like to stopper my mouth,

but I shall fight. The lawyer says

I don’t have much.

He has the paternity,

the money. I just hope

his lust for young women

will undo him. I’ll cite

that he is a pernicious influence

on young minds.

That I have this warm house

that is bigger than a barn

and I shall win.
